Visit Eagle Point
Eagle Point, Oregon is a small community near Medford in Southwestern Oregon. Though it has seen tremendous growth in the last decade, Eagle Point remains a community largely centered around agriculture.
If you’re the patriotic sort – and who isn’t? – it’s time to schedlue a visit to the streets of Eagle Point on a major American holiday. You won’t be disappointed. And who could ever forget the breathtaking sight of flag-lined streets, waving freely in the breeze. Does it get better? Consider this. Each of the flags once shrouded the casket of a fallen hero and was donated by their families. The Avenue of Flags is truly amazing!
Many historical sites are located near Eagle Point. The Butte Creek Mill, ground grains using the power of Butte Creek. The Mill recently burned, but you can still visit the site and the small museum located there. Efforts are underway to rebuild the historic mill with a projected re-opening in 2018!
Next to the mill is one of Oregon’s covered bridges, now maintained as a pedestrian walkway. Just up the road is the Old Wood House, built by Civil War Veteran Marvin Wood around 1870.
Outdoor sporting abounds in Southern Oregon. Summer brings whitewater river trips, jet boat excursions, or simply floating down the Rogue River on a raft or innertube. Hiking and backpacking possibilities are endless – from small day hikes, to climbing one of the Table Rocks, or conquering Mount McLoughlin.
If fishing is your passion, you’ve just stumbled on to one of the best locations for fishing in the West for trout, steelhead, and salmon. Our lakes and rivers provide endless opportunities for fishing from the bank, afloat the water, or fly-fishing. Catch-and-release is approved. Our surrounding forested lands, rivers and streams make for great bird and game hunting.

For noise and speed, you have two choices less than a mile away. Visit the Champion Raceway Drag Strip for Jet Fire Thunder and drag racing. The Southern Oregon Speedway is around the bend with racing for stock cars, dwarf cars, and all the modifieds.
If grapes are your thing, try the Upper Rogue Wine Trail. Wineries have sprouted up all over Southern Oregon and are producing award-winning wines.

Perched hillside overlooking Eagle Point is the Eagle Point National Cemetary. Beautifully maintained, this is a magnificent and touching place to be on a Memorial Day morning. The experience will leave you speechless.
Up Highway 62 lies the deepest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and Oregon’s only National Park. Begin your trip to Crater Lake National Park with a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast at Brookside Inn & Suites. It’s cold up there in the snow – you’ll need it!
